What an experience it is to be at MWC! The product launches, keynotes and amazing networking opportunities make MWC the most coveted event for both Marketing and Sales. Like every year, the Jifflenow team came back with some great takeaways on the future of technology and what it means for the future of event marketing.
Here are our top 3 takeaways:
1. Mobile will become the center of customer experience
Apps are becoming increasingly integrated with business platforms. They will soon become the primary touchpoint for users while connecting with their brands. With companies such as Facebook and Google investing to improve the mobile ad and user experience, marketers are now vested in mobile marketing more than ever. This is crucial for event marketers who are always on the go, and yet try to manage meetings across locations using a bunch of spreadsheets. At MWC, Jifflenow’s easy integration with Salesforce.com allowed Meeting Managers to book and manage their meetings while on the move, track any last minute changes and send out real-time notifications to attendees. They were relieved of manual scheduling nightmares while managing offsite locations, VIP receptions, dinners and at the same time ensuring the senior executives were not double booked in meetings. The power of the mobile meeting management is surely here to stay and even grow.
2. Event tech will go mainstream
With more than 100,000 attendees from 204 countries, the MWC venue was nothing short of Cannes glory with its 8 exhibition halls. Booths were expensive and marketers were under tremendous pressure to draw traffic and footfall. For B2B marketers, managing meetings with hundreds of prospects and customers was almost impossible without intervention from a solid technology solution. With events growing bigger every year, it has become a necessity to integrate CRMs with end-to-end meeting management platforms. At MWC this year, many Fortune 1000 companies used Jifflenow to integrate CRM with meetings. They ended up meeting about 2x more customers at just 40% of their manual operational efforts. Watch this space for upcoming Jifflenow features that will change the ways of traditional meeting scheduling at events for good.
3. Virtual Reality(VR) is the future
The image of Mark Zuckerberg walking past humans tethered to machines and eyes covered by Samsung’s Gear VR set looked straight out of a dystopian sci-fi film. If you walked by the aisles at MWC, you could see that Virtual Reality was clearly the favorite theme. Marketers need to gear up to this new view of the world that will probably change the way events are set up and managed. Virtual reality brings a massive number of opportunities for conducting product demonstrations or delivering content experiences to customers from various locations and change the buying experience forever.
